Trento, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Germany

Today was going to be fun!!! We were heading for the Alps and this time on purpose!

As we were leaving the Grand Hotel, Trento the staff thanked us for bringing our eclectic mix of sports cars....felt like a rock star!

Our first task was finding fuel in Italy on a Sunday morning....not easy especially if you need 'super'.

Finally found a petrol station....no super unleaded though

We headed for the Swiss border where for the first time we found border patrols, they took one look at our 2 seaters and just waved us on....not the people smugglers vehicle of choice!

We was enjoying ourselves so much we drove straight through Switzerland and in to Liechtenstein, we only realised when we saw the unfamiliar number plates!


We passed through Liechtenstein back into Switzerland then into the German Black forest and onto our hotel.A good day!

Day2 started with a slap up breakfast (for those who could stomach it). The "Day 2" envelopes were handed out along with some very fragile Rubik's cubes (more on this later). We checked out of the hotel and all met up in the car park where we had our first casualty of any Run......Wendy (half of Thelma and Louise) had to retire due to back problems. However the other half of T&L, Judith has managed to form a new hybrid team....."Shocking Thelma" with Roy and Allison (formerly Shocking Blue). So with the sound of Frankie Goes to Hollywood reverberating around the Ramada Warwick's grounds we're off on Day 2. First stop is Kenilworth Castle, just a short hop from the hotel. Day 2

Day 2 begins with breakfast at the Exmouth View Hotel, envelopes are handed out and as they are opened and the shopping lists are mulled over I just remembered what I put in them. FACE PAINTING!!! was the subject for breakfast, some filled with dread others strangely excited by the idea of turning up as Spider man or a Hamster!?. All teams set off at approx 9.30am heading for Kingswear, Devon. The first clue took them to the Dartmouth lower ferry, as we took the higher we got to Dartmouth just in time to catch all teams in 2 waves travelling across the lower ferry. Seb as per usual could be heard on the other side of the river Dart then as he disembarked all the way through Dartmouth. Destination 3 day 2 was Cremyll, Cornwall. This destination split the teams up when it came to routes.
